Multi-UAV deployment for NOMA-enabled wireless networks based on IMOGWO algorithm

Aishwarya Gupta et al.

Summary: This article addresses the problem of multi-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) deployment in wireless networks with co-channel interference (CCI) for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). The objective is to maximize energy efficiency and coverage rate by optimizing the power allocation of users and the locations of UAVs. The proposed approach utilizes clustering and sub-clustering methods, and applies both orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and NOMA. An improved multi-objective grey wolf optimizer (IMOGWO) is proposed to solve the non-convex problem. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm over benchmarks.

Summary: This paper investigates the information and energy coverage of UAV-enabled simultaneous wireless information and power transfer networks for ground sensor users. Through stochastic geometry approach, the expressions of information coverage probability, energy coverage probability, and joint information and energy coverage probability are derived. Optimal UAVs' deployment density is achieved through maximization optimization problems. Numerical results demonstrate that power splitting-based systems outperform time switching-based systems. Moreover, nonlinear energy harvesting model is more suitable for system performance analysis and optimal system design compared to linear model.

Yuhua Su et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an integrated scheme of intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication. By jointly optimizing active beamforming, passive beamforming, and UAV trajectory, the system's spectrum efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) are maximized. The SE maximization problem is divided into three subproblems, which are iteratively optimized. Under the constraint of limited energy, suboptimal trajectory design and optimal beamforming are obtained using successive convex approximation and Dinkelbach's method, respectively.
