Characterization of the (Cu,C)Ba2Ca3Cu4O11+δ single crystals grown under high pressure

Chengping He et al.

Summary: By using a high pressure and high temperature synthesis technique, (Cu,C)Ba2Ca3Cu4O11+delta single crystals were successfully grown with good quality. The crystals show a sharp magnetization transition and a narrow transition width. A pronounced second peak effect is observed in the intermediate temperature region. The magnetic critical current density and irreversibility line are both high and have potential for further improvement.

Key factor for low anisotropy and high irreversibility field in (Cu,C) Ba2Ca3Cu4O11+δ

Chengping He et al.

Summary: In cuprate superconductors, the (Cu,C)Ba2Ca3Cu4O11+delta material shows exceptional characteristics with high irreversibility field and low anisotropy. The newly formed CuO chains significantly enhance the electron conduction along the c-axis, leading to lower anisotropy and stronger irreversibility field. This discovery has important implications for the study of other layered cuprates and the development of high power applications in the liquid nitrogen temperature region.

Atomic origin of the coexistence of high critical current density and high Tc in CuBa2Ca3Cu4O10+δ superconductors

Summary: This study reveals the mechanisms behind the double high traits of Cu-1234 superconductors: ordered vacancies and plate-like microdomains enhance Jc, while metallic charge-reservoir modules composed of [CuO6] octahedra reduce superconducting anisotropy and enhance interlayer coupling. These findings have significant implications for the design and synthesis of new superconductors with double high traits.
