Synthesis and characterization of MOF-5 incorporated waste- derived siliceous materials for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solution

Irvan Dahlan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the synthesis of MOF-5 and its modification for the removal of malachite green (MG) dye. Waste-derived siliceous materials, such as rice husk ash (RHA) and/or coal fly ash (CFA), were used to prepare modified MOF-5 adsorbents at different ratios. The MOF-5/RHA&CFA/2:1 adsorbent was found to be the most effective for MG dye removal from aqueous solutions. The adsorption characteristics of the modified MOF-5 for MG dye removal were studied by varying various parameters.

Application of optimization response surface for the biosorption of crystal violet dye from textile wastewater onto Clerodendrum fragrans leaves

M. Ravi Kumar et al.

Summary: The aim of this research is to use Clerodendrum fragrans leaf powder as a biosorbent to extract crystal violet (CV) dye from textile wastewater in a batch study. Several factors were found to affect the method, and the response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the process for high dye removal. The maximum removal efficiency was predicted to be 96.72% for crystal violet.
