Global well-posedness of 2D Euler-α equation in exterior domain

Xiaoguang You et al.

Summary: By casting Euler-alpha equations into vorticity-stream function formula and obtaining useful estimates from the properties of the vorticity formula in exterior domain, one can establish the global existence and uniqueness of solutions to Euler-alpha equations in 2D exterior domain, with the condition of regular enough initial data.

Global Well-Posedness of Second-Grade Fluid Equations in 2D Exterior Domain

Xiaoguang You et al.

Summary: In this article, we investigate the second-grade fluid equations in 2D exterior domain S2 with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. We prove that the equations are globally well-posed for initial data u0 in H3(S2). Moreover, for arbitrary T > 0 and s > 3, we show that the solution belongs to L infinity([0, T]; Hs(S2)) provided that u0 is in Hs(S2).
