Thermoelectric Properties of Conductive Freestanding Films Prepared from PEDOT:PSS Aqueous Dispersion and Ionic Liquids

Ichiro Imae et al.

Summary: The study focused on synthesizing freestanding PEDOT: PSS films modified with an ionic liquid, which were found to exhibit high mechanical strengths and hydrophobicity. The thermoelectric properties of these films were dependent on the amount of IL incorporated, with further analysis conducted on the composition, higher-order structures, and electronic states of the polymer films. Additionally, the correlation between carrier density in the polymer film and thermoelectric conversion properties was investigated using electrochemical techniques.

Ag2Se/nylon self-supporting composite films for wearable photo-thermoelectric generators with high output characteristics

Zhen-yu Yang et al.

Summary: The skyrocketing interest in smart wearable devices has led to innovations in energy-harvesting materials. In this study, Ag2Se/nylon self-supporting composite films with excellent flexibility and leading thermoelectric (TE) performances were prepared. The introduction of Ag2Se's excellent photothermal (PT) effect into the TE field resulted in the development of a homogeneous synchronous photo-thermoelectric generator (PTEG). This work provides a new idea for preparing high performance flexible TE self-supporting films and developing PTEGs with high output characteristics.

Role of interfaces in organic-inorganic flexible thermoelectrics

Chan Liu et al.

Summary: By using carbon nanotubes-tellurium-PEDOT:PSS nanocomposites, it is possible to achieve ultra-low thermal conductivity at high CNT content, which is understood through quantitative mappings of thermal conductivity in micro-scale interface regions. Moreover, the formation of highly conductive layers at the interfaces of Te PEDOT:PSS and CNTs PEDOT:PSS can enhance electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient simultaneously.
