Janus hydrogel with dual antibacterial and angiogenesis functions for enhance d diab etic wound healing

Guiting Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel sodium alginate/chitosan (SA/CS) Janus hydrogel dressing was fabricated to combine the functions of anti-infection and neovascularization at the wound site. The inner CS-ArgMS hydrogel released L-arginine and promoted vascular regeneration, while the outer SA-AgNP hydrogel prevented infection. The SA-AgNP/CS-ArgMS hydrogel showed excellent biocompatibility and demonstrated antibacterial and angiogenesis characteristics, leading to enhanced diabetic wound healing in vivo.

Nanosized Fat Emulsion Injection Modulating Local Microenvironment Promotes Angiogenesis in Chronic Wound Healing

Caihong Xian et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the potential of nanosized fat emulsion (FE) for diabetic wound healing. The FE, mixed with methacrylated hyaluronic acid (HA-MA) hydrogel, forms an anti-inflammatory and angiogenic dressing that accelerates wound closure. The results demonstrate the FE's anti-inflammatory effects by downregulating proinflammatory cytokines and its promotion of angiogenesis and cell migration. The in vivo study confirms improved wound healing and collagen deposition in the FE/HA-MA group.

β-Cyclodextrin Inclusion Complexes with Catechol-Containing Antioxidants Protocatechuic Aldehyde and Protocatechuic Acid-An Atomistic Perspective on Structural and Thermodynamic Stabilities

Thammarat Aree

Summary: Protocatechuic aldehyde (PCAL) and protocatechuic acid (PCAC) are catechol derivatives with broad therapeutic effects due to their antiradical activity. Encapsulation in cyclodextrin (CD) improves their pharmacological and physicochemical properties. X-ray analysis revealed that they are shielded in the beta-CD wall and positioned in a preferred orientation for crystal contacts, contributing to their stability in the cavity.
