Ultrasound prediction of adverse perinatal outcome at diagnosis of late-onset fetal growth restriction

A. Dall'Asta et al.

Summary: In this multicenter retrospective study, the relationship between Doppler and biometric ultrasound parameters and perinatal adverse outcome in late-onset growth-restricted (FGR) fetuses was evaluated. The study found that sonographic parameters, such as estimated fetal weight (EFW) percentile and uterine artery pulsatility index (PI) MoM, were associated with adverse perinatal outcomes.

Perinatal outcome of appropriate-weight fetuses with decelerating growth

Christos Chatzakis et al.

Summary: The study found that AGA fetuses crossing >50 EFW centiles between the second and third trimester are at increased risk of adverse perinatal outcomes, suggesting that they should be followed up as typical FGR cases.

Reduced fetal growth velocity precedes antepartum fetal death

P. Pacora et al.

Summary: This study aimed to determine whether fetal growth velocity can predict antepartum fetal death and found that growth velocity has better predictive capacity. The results showed that cases of antepartum fetal death had significantly lower growth velocities compared to controls, especially in terms of fetal weight. Compared to a single fetal weight measurement, growth velocity has higher sensitivity in predicting antepartum fetal death.
