Tattoo inks are toxicological risks to human health: A systematic review of its ingredients, fate inside skin, toxicity due to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, primary aromatic amines, metals, and overview of regulatory frameworks

Sandeep Negi et al.

Summary: Tattooing has become popular worldwide, but it may pose potential toxicological risks to human health due to the presence of harmful ingredients in tattoo inks, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), heavy metals, and primary aromatic amines (PAAs).
