Older Patients' Competence, Preferences, and Attitudes Toward Digital Technology Use: Explorative Study

Rikke Terp et al.

Summary: Malnutrition is common in older patients and can lead to severe consequences. A tablet-based eHealth solution was introduced to support older patients in making healthier food choices. The study found that older patients are potential users of ICT, but face barriers such as health challenges, limited digital literacy, and low self-efficacy in using technology. Support targeting their knowledge, skills, and motivation is important when introducing older patients to eHealth.
