CONservative TReatment of Appendicitis in Children: a randomised controlled feasibility Trial (CONTRACT)

Summary: The study showed that a randomized controlled trial comparing non-operative treatment pathway with appendicectomy in children is feasible, with a high proportion of eligible patients agreeing to participate and improvement in recruitment rate with repeated recruiter training enhancements. Both patients and surgeons demonstrated good adherence to trial procedures and satisfactory completion of follow-ups.
