Large scale analytics of global and regional MOOC providers: Differences in learners' demographics, preferences, and perceptions

Summary: Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have gained significant global media attention, with focus primarily on a few English-language providers. However, there is also a growing ecosystem of local MOOC providers. Through research and analysis, we found that these regional providers may be better equipped to expand access to higher education in their respective regions, as they attract a larger local population, cater to topical interests, and offer familiarity to students.

Lifelong learning and the Internet: Who benefits most from learning online?

Individual interventions have not been successful in increasing the uptake of online learning.
