Engineering of MSC-Derived Exosomes: A Promising Cell-Free Therapy for Osteoarthritis

Jin Cheng et al.

Summary: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive cartilage degenerative disease with unsatisfactory treatment. Exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells have the potential to alleviate OA by promoting cartilage regeneration, inhibiting inflammation, and mediating bone remodeling. However, the low yield and weak activity of natural exosomes, as well as their unpredictable side effects, have limited their clinical application. Current research focuses on engineering exosomes to improve their production and therapeutic effectiveness, as well as exploring the application of biomaterials for efficient exosome delivery.

The application of injectable platelet-rich fibrin in regenerative dentistry: A systematic scoping review of In vitro and In vivo studies

Nima Farshidfar et al.

Summary: This systematic scoping review explores the role of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (I-PRF) in the regeneration of oral and maxillofacial soft and hard tissues. The findings suggest that I-PRF exhibits anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, and can promote wound, periodontal, bone, cartilage, and pulp regeneration, as well as accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment.

Arthroscopic Meniscal Repair With Second-Generation Platelet-Rich Fibrin Clot Augmentation

Ragunanthan Narayanaswamy et al.

Summary: Meniscal tears are common knee injuries that can be treated with repair techniques, and the use of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) as an adjuvant can enhance healing without the need for anticoagulants. We describe a reproducible method for harvesting PRF and integrating it with meniscal repair.
