Simulation of 125 I Auger emission spectrum with new atomic parameters from MCDHF calculations

J. M. Sampaio et al.

Summary: New 125 I atomic decay emission data are presented in this study, which are calculated based on the multi-configuration Dirac-Hartree-Fock method. The comparison with the experimental electron emission spectrum shows that the new calculations can reproduce the structure of the Auger electron peaks.

Re-Evaluation of the Nuclear Magnetic Octupole Moment of 209Bi

Jiguang Li et al.

Summary: We modified the Hfs92 code of the GRASP package to study magnetic octupole hyperfine interaction. By calculating the electronic factors of the magnetic octupole hyperfine interaction constants for levels in the ground configuration of the Bi atom, we revealed the properties of the nuclear magnetic octupole moment and found the significance of nuclear many-body effects.

A Program Library for Computing Pure Spin-Angular Coefficients for One- and Two-Particle Operators in Relativistic Atomic Theory

Gediminas Gaigalas

Summary: This article presents a program library for computing pure spin-angular coefficients for any one- and scalar two-particle operators. The method used combines second quantization and quasi-spin techniques with angular momentum theory and the method of irreducible tensorial sets. A relativistic approach is assumed. This program library is integrated in the General Relativistic Atomic Structure Package but can also be implemented in other program packages.

Relativistic radial electron density functions and natural orbitals from GRASP2018

S. Schiffmann et al.

Summary: This article presents a new module, RDENSITY, of the GRASP2018 package for evaluating the radial electron density function of an atomic state described by a multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock or configuration interaction wave function in the fully relativistic scheme. The module calculates the spin-angular factors using angular momentum theory and evaluates the natural orbitals by diagonalizing the density matrix.

Variational Methods for Atoms and the Virial Theorem

Charlotte Froese Fischer et al.

Summary: This paper studies the virial theorem for subshells of equivalent electrons and their interactions in many-electron atoms. The results show that the conditions imposed by Slater integrals on single subshells and between subshells lead to a slower convergence rate of the self-consistent field process.

Model-QED operator for superheavy elements

A. Malyshev et al.

Summary: This article introduces a model-QED-operator approach for calculating the radiative corrections to binding and transition energies in atomic systems, extended to the range of nuclear charges 110 ≤ Z ≤ 170. The method utilizes the self-energy operator based on the Dirac-Coulomb wave functions to represent the self-energy part of the model operator, and represents the vacuum-polarization part with matrix elements similar to the self-energy part. The performance of the method is studied by comparing its predictions with ab initio calculations, and it is noted that the model-QED operator can be used to account for QED effects in a wide variety of superheavy elements.

Chun Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: The atomic properties of n = 3 levels for W47+ - W55+ ions (Z = 74) are systematically calculated using two different methods. The calculated wavelengths and transition rates for electric-and magnetic-dipole transitions are found to be accurate and can be used for future experiments and theoretical calculations.

Summary: The study utilizes the MCDHF and relativistic configuration interaction methods to provide excitation energies and radiative transition data for Si-like ions of iron-group elements. By comparing theoretical results with available experimental data, the line identifications of Fe xiii and Ni xv are reviewed, confirming many recent identifications and proposing new ones for these ions. The uncertainty estimation method suggested by Kramida is applied for ranking transition data, and the correlation with gauge dependency patterns is investigated.

Large Shape Staggering in Neutron-Deficient Bi Isotopes

A. Barzakh et al.

Summary: The mean-square charge radius, magnetic dipole, and electric quadrupole moments of Bi-187, Bi-188, Bi-189, and Bi-191 were measured using in-source resonance-ionization spectroscopy at ISOLDE (CERN). Significant variations in radius were observed in the ground states of Bi-187, Bi-188, Bi-189(g), with a large isomer shift in Bi-188(m) at neutron number N = 10(5). Experimental results were consistent with mean-field calculations, identifying the ground or isomeric states based on blocked quasiparticle configurations.

CODATA recommended values of the fundamental physical constants: 2018

Eite Tiesinga et al.

Summary: The self-consistent values of physics and chemistry constants recommended by CODATA for 2018 are reported, with discussions on major improvements and inconsistencies. Many constants have reduced uncertainties or exact values due to the transition to the revised SI. However, inconsistencies remain for the gravitational constant and the muon magnetic-moment anomaly.

Ab initio multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock calculations of the In and Tl electron affinities and their isotope shifts

Ran Si et al.

Summary: In this study, multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock and relativistic configuration interaction calculations were performed on the electron affinity and excited energy levels of thallium (Tl), with comparisons to experimental values and validation using indium (In) as a lighter element from the same group. The calculated electron affinities of In and Tl were found to be in good agreement with the latest measurements, with isotope shifts also estimated for both elements. The radiative lifetimes of metastable levels in In- were calculated based on intraconfiguration radiative transition rates.
