Summary: This study aims to assess the reduction of environmental costs by using nuclear energy efficiency and technological innovation from the perspective of the globalization process. The results show that nuclear energy and technological innovation reduce environmental costs by decreasing carbon emissions, while globalization increases environmental costs by releasing more carbon emissions. Additionally, there exists bidirectional causality among nuclear energy, renewable energy, and carbon emissions. Therefore, countries with high nuclear energy consumption should prioritize nuclear energy efficiency to control environmental costs and achieve a cost-effective low-carbon economy. Finally, this perspective calls for policymakers to substantiate their decisions more effectively.

Summary: This study investigates whether nuclear energy can promote economic growth without increasing carbon emissions during the energy transition. The results show that nuclear energy and renewable energy can both curb carbon emissions and contribute to economic growth. Nuclear energy has a better effect on reducing carbon emissions in certain countries compared to renewable energy. Hence, the authors suggest seriously considering and redeveloping nuclear power as an option for economic growth with lower carbon emissions.

Summary: Currently, the contradictions in most coal-energy cities have hindered their optimization and upgrading. Effective improvement measures and economic transformation efforts are required for the sustainable growth of these cities. The study proposes an enhanced TOPSIS economic transformation evaluation model based on entropy weight and assesses the industrialization and economic transformation of coal-energy cities. The results show that while the driving force for industrial and economic development in these cities is sufficient, there are significant pressures for social and economic transformation. Strengthening infrastructure and protecting the urban environment are crucial in the transformation process.
