Summary: This study presents a new optimized design of a hybrid AlexNet/Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) network for an optimal identification tool for Proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). The proposed hybrid AlexNet/ELM is aimed at reducing the error between empirical and evaluated output voltages, and a modified version of the African Vulture Optimization (MAVO) Algorithm is suggested to enhance its model formation. The method is validated through a benchmark case study and compared with standard AlexNet/ELM, showing better confirmation with the experimental data.

Summary: Low Impact Development (LID) is an effective measure in controlling urban runoff and mitigating non-point source pollution. This study employed Genetic Algorithm (GA) to optimize the selection and layout of LID, and simulated urban runoff using the Environmental Protection Agency Storm Water Management Model (SWMM). The results demonstrate that the combination of LID approaches is the most effective measure for reducing runoff.

Summary: This study confirms that artificial recharge is an effective strategy to increase the storage capacity of groundwater in Khatoon-Abad plain, Iran. Artificial recharge by direct injection of water prevents evaporation, runoff, and outflow, leading to an increase in aquifer water availability. Simulation results show that the impact of recharge during the study period varies from 3 km to more than 7 km, depending on the amount of recharge applied to the aquifer.
