Identifying the formation of antimony-based sesquioxide phase materials via wet and solid-state chemical synthesis routes - a detailed study

S. A. Ashika et al.

Summary: Different synthesis conditions result in different crystal phases and thermal features of the materials. Manual mixing and subsequent wetting and wet chemical route produce a single Sb2O3 phase, while ball-milling and molten flux techniques yield different phases. Raman and UV-Vis spectra analysis show that the identified Sb2O3 phase materials are suitable for solar and color reflective pigment applications.

Investigation on multifunctional binary oxides for near-infrared (NIR) reflective pigment applications

S. A. Ashika et al.

Summary: This study investigated the solar reflective and color pigmentation effectiveness of multifunctional binary oxides using XRD and DRS techniques. The results showed that Gd2O3, Sb2O3, Ta2O5, Nb2O5, and Y2O3 exhibited interesting features in the NIR region, while MnO2 and Cr2O3 had lower NIR reflectance.

Evaluation of Structural and Optical Properties of Nanocrystalline Cubic Y2O3 Phase Materials via Combustion Method Using Different Fuels

A. Saliha Marjuka et al.

Summary: In this work, combustion synthesis of nanocrystalline Y2O3 materials using different fuels was carried out. The properties of the combustion products were found to vary depending on the fuels used, with the combustion product of PEG(200) showing the highest weight loss at 800 degrees C. The UV-vis-NIR features of different samples showed interesting results, and the Y2O3 nanomaterials derived from PEG(200) exhibited a high reflectance in the NIR region.

Multifunctional CeO2 Nanomaterials: Wet Chemical Synthesis, Characterization, and NIR Pigmentation Applications

A. Priyanka et al.

Summary: In this study, nano-scale CeO2 materials were synthesized using wet chemical routes and characterized using TG-DTA, XRD, FESEM-EDX, FT-IR, and NIR techniques. The results showed that the CeO2 materials obtained through wet chemical and calcination methods had cubic nanostructures and small crystalline sizes. The morphology of the materials was spherical with moderate agglomeration. Furthermore, the as-obtained CeO2 materials exhibited high NIR reflectance, making them suitable for solar reflective and color pigment applications.

The remarkable enhancement in the solubility of Bi in the ZnO phase, Zn1-xBixO (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.1), by high energy ball milling technique

S. Selvamani et al.

Summary: The Zn1-xBixO (0 <= x <= 0.1) combustion products were synthesized by solution combustion method, and subsequent treatments resulted in different compositions of Zn1-xBixO materials, with pure phase obtained by ball-milling. While ball milling enhanced Bi solubility in the ZnO structure, it also affected NIR reflectance, causing particle agglomeration. High-energy ball milling significantly influences phase formation and properties of the Zn1-xBixO samples.
