A fractal crazing constitutive model of glassy polymers considering damage and toughening

Yong Li et al.

Summary: The study establishes and validates the evolutionary framework of crazing in creep of glassy polymers using fractal theory. A new fractal dimension calculation method is defined and the corresponding crazing variable is modified to eliminate the influence of deformation. The experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical model, confirming the accuracy of the model.

Fractal dimensions of blast-cleaned steel surfaces and their effects on the adhesion of polymeric foil systems with integrated pressure-sensitive adhesives

T. Marquardt et al.

Summary: The morphology and structure of substrate surfaces are crucial for the adhesion of protective layers. This study investigated the impact of surface profile parameters on the adhesion of polymeric foil systems by preparing mild steel samples with different surface configurations. Fractal dimensions were found to be more accurate than conventional roughness parameters in quantifying adhesion.

EFFECTS OF FINENESS AND CONTENT OF PHOSPHORUS SLAG ON CEMENT HYDRATION, PERMEABILITY, PORE STRUCTURE AND FRACTAL DIMENSION OF CONCRETE

Lei Wang et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the fineness and content of PHS have significant effects on the hydration, mechanical strength, and pore structure of concrete. By controlling the fineness and content of PHS, the negative impact on the early strength of concrete can be mitigated. The concrete added with finely ground PHS shows higher compressive strength and better pore structure refinement at both early and late ages.
