This paper introduces the basic structure and automatic assembly process of LED lamps based on machine vision and analyzes the production situation of Company X. Experimental comparisons were conducted among manual assembly, programmable logic controller semi-automatic assembly, and machine vision-based automatic assembly lines, as well as the light life of LED lamps produced by these three production lines. The results indicate that the machine vision-based automatic assembly line has better assembly accuracy and efficiency, and produces LED lamps with higher luminous flux and longer light life.
The demand for light-emitting diode (LED) lamps is gradually increasing due to their advantages of energy saving, strong light, and long life, and the efficiency of traditional manual or semi-automatic assembly gradually becomes difficult to meet the growing demand. This paper briefly introduced the basic structure of LED lamps and the automatic assembly process of LED lamps based on machine vision. Company X, which is engaged in producing LED lamps, was analyzed. Experiments were performed to compare the assembly accuracy and efficiency of the manual, Programmable logic controller semi-automatic and automatic machine vision-based assembly lines and the light life of LED lamps produced by the three production lines. The results suggested that the automatic machine vision-based assembly line had better assembly accuracy and higher assembly efficiency and produced LED lamps with higher luminous flux and longer light life.
