Human live cadaver neurovascular model for proximal and distal mechanical thrombectomy in stroke

Jorge L. Arturo Larco et al.

Summary: This study introduced a human live cadaveric neurovascular model that accurately replicates the anatomy, mechanics, and hemodynamics of cerebral vasculature. The model allows for the performance of neurointerventional procedures equivalent to those done in patients. The model was highly rated by experienced interventionalists.

Kinematics of the head and associated vertebral artery length changes during high-velocity, low-amplitude cervical spine manipulation

Lindsay M. Gorrell et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the angular displacements of the head and associated vertebral artery (VA) length changes during cervical spine manipulation (CSM). The results showed that the angular displacements of the head and VA length changes during CSM thrusts were small. Among the different CSM procedures measured, the VA length changes were largest during rotation procedures. This suggests that clinicians should consider the type of CSM used to limit VA length changes during the thrust phase.
