The associations between unmet needs with protective factors, risk factors and outcomes among care partners of community-dwelling persons living with dementia

Inga Margret Antonsdottir et al.

Predictivity of the comorbidity indices for geriatric syndromes

Kubra Canaslan et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the relationship between comorbidity indices and common geriatric syndromes and found that none of the indices is sufficient to use alone in geriatric practice. New indices should be developed considering the complexity of geriatric cases and the limitations of existing indices.

Multimorbidity burden and dementia risk in older adults: The role of inflammation and genetics

Giulia Grande et al.

Summary: Older adults with neuropsychiatric, cardiovascular, and sensory impairment/cancer multimorbidity are at increased risk of dementia, with high CRP levels and APOEε4 carriers further elevating the risk. Identifying these high-risk groups could lead to tailored interventions for dementia prevention.

Characteristics Predicting a High Caregiver Burden in Patients with Vascular Cognitive Impairment: Using the Apriori Algorithm to Delineate the Caring Scenario

Kai-Ming Jhang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify factors associated with a moderate to severe care burden in caregivers of patients with VCI. Results showed that caregiver's gender, relation to the care recipient, education level, mood status, employment status, and care loading were linked to a higher burden of care. Personalized training and support from dementia care teams are recommended to help caregivers cope with the challenges they face.
