Acute kidney injury in hospitalized cirrhotic patients: Risk factors, type of kidney injury, and survival

Chitta Ranjan Khatua et al.

Summary: AKI is a common complication in DC patients, with alcohol being the predominant cause of cirrhosis. Medications and infections are major factors leading to AKI in these patients. AKI patients have higher risk of acute-on-chronic liver failure, longer hospital stays, and lower survival rates at both 28 days and 90 days.
