Emerging Domain-Based Treatments for Pediatric Anxiety Disorders

Amit Lazarov et al.

Summary: Domain-specific cognitive training treatments for pediatric anxiety disorders rely on accurate identification of underlying deficits; specific neurocognitive biases serve as targets for therapeutic intervention. Current research has established training targets in anxiety, attention, interpretation, and working memory domains, with fear learning domain still lacking a clear target. Clinical efficacy has been found in threat-related attention domain, with some initial findings in interpretation and working memory domains. Path to clinical translation in error monitoring domain remains unclear.
