Mehul Raithatha et al.

Summary: In this study, the influence of a firm's historical economic policies on its risk-taking behavior is examined in the context of institutional transitions in India. Temperature and corporate risk taking in China

Mengling Zhou et al.

Summary: This article examines the impact of temperature change on corporate risk-taking using data from Chinese non-financial listed enterprises. The results show that temperature significantly hinders risk-taking behaviors, and this negative effect is persistent even after conducting various robustness tests. Furthermore, the study finds that the negative relationship between temperature and risk-taking is more pronounced for non-state-owned enterprises, small enterprises, and labor-intensive enterprises.

Board faultlines and the value of cash holdings: Evidence from Chinese listed companies

Canyu Xu et al.

Summary: The study finds that board faultlines have an inhibitory effect on the value of cash holdings, particularly when they stem from deep-level attributes. This inhibitory effect is more pronounced in state-owned enterprises. Management shareholdings can reduce agency costs and mitigate the negative impact of board faultlines on cash holdings.
