Summary: Travel apps have become increasingly influential in the tourism industry. This study introduces a new model based on TPB, TAM, and motivation theory to explain the young generation's continued use intention of travel apps. The results show that utilitarian and hedonic motivations significantly impact their intention to continue using travel apps, with hedonic motivation mediating the relationship between app features and continued use intention. The co-evolution of two Chinese mobile short video apps: Parallel platformization of Douyin and TikTok

D. Bondy Valdovinos Kaye et al.

Summary: TikTok, the international counterpart of China's Douyin, shares many similarities in appearance, functionality, and platform with its Chinese twin but operates in different markets and under different regulations. This case study examines how an emerging internet company adapts to diverse cultural and policy contexts in China and abroad. By comparing Douyin and TikTok, the study argues that the co-evolution of these platforms represents a new paradigm of global expansion, different from regionalization strategies of previous major social media platforms. The concept of parallel platformization is introduced to explain ByteDance's survival strategies in contrasting platform ecosystems.
