Summary: The majority of women have health problems that require medication after giving birth. However, there is limited information on the transfer of drugs to breast milk and their potential effects on infants. Therefore, more research needs to be conducted in larger populations. Researchers have developed two rapid and sensitive analysis methods for quantifying drugs in human breast milk, and have validated the accuracy and precision of these methods.

Summary: Countries in Africa and Asia have implemented various measures to prevent and treat COVID-19 with medicines and personal protective equipment. However, controversies and shortages have arisen, especially with treatments like hydroxychloroquine, leading to price rises and suicides. Changes in the utilization, prices, and shortages of medications and PPE have been observed, with increases in the use of antimalarials, antibiotics, vitamins/immune boosters, and PPE documented in some countries. Shortages have led to price increases in some regions, prompting the need for further investigation and strategies to address misinformation and unintended consequences.
