Summary: It has been suggested that using anthropomorphic food labels can reduce the likelihood of choosing beef or chicken over vegetables, but there is insufficient evidence to support its influence on the choice of fish. Strong ethical concerns reinforce the effect of anthropomorphic nudges on beef consumption.

Plant-Based Diets Are Not Enough? Understanding the Consumption of Plant-Based Meat Alternatives Along Ultra-processed Foods in Different Dietary Patterns in Germany

Summary: This study aimed to understand the consumption of ultra-processed foods and their relation to dietary patterns and sustainability. The findings showed that plant-based meat alternatives had the lowest consumption, while convenience products, fast foods, snacks, and ultra-processed beverages were mainly consumed by meat-eaters. Flexitarian diets had low consumption of all types of ultra-processed foods.
