Secure Attachment Relationships With Mothers, But Not Fathers, Moderate the Relation Between Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Symptoms and Delinquency in Adolescents

Mother's and Father's Migrating in China: Differing Relations to Mental Health and Risk Behaviors Among Left-Behind Children

Summary: This study examined the impact of parental migration on the mental health and risk behaviors of left-behind children (LBC) in different contexts. The results showed that LBC with both parents migrating, LBC with only mothers migrating, LBC with only fathers migrating, and previous LBC with one or both parents migrating scored higher in total difficulties, emotional symptoms, and conduct problems compared to never left-behind children. Additionally, certain groups of LBC reported higher rates of smoking, drinking, and internet addiction.

Assessment of Effect of Perceived Social Support on School Readiness, Mental Wellbeing, and Self-Esteem: Mediating Role of Psychological Resilience

Summary: The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of perceived social support on the self-esteem, mental wellbeing, and school readiness of left-behind children, as well as the mediating role of psychological resilience in these relationships. The findings showed that perceived social support played a significant role in enhancing the mental wellbeing, self-esteem, and school readiness of left-behind children. Additionally, it was found that perceived social support had a positive effect on psychological resilience, which in turn was an important predictor of self-esteem and school readiness.
