Subjective cognitive decline in idiopathic Parkinson′s disease: A systematic review

Christiane Oedekoven et al.

Summary: Cognitive symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD) are highly disabling non-motor features of the disease. The concept of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) has gained interest for earlier detection of cognitive decline in PD.

Neural correlates and predictors of subjective cognitive decline in patients with Parkinson's disease

Anja Ophey et al.

Summary: This study identified neural correlates, sociodemographic, clinical, and neuropsychological predictors of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. It found that hypometabolism in certain brain areas, along with depressive symptoms, were significant determinants of SCD. The early identification of vulnerability for future cognitive decline is crucial for successful prevention and delay of non-motor symptoms in PD.

Reliability and Validity of the Subjective Cognitive Complaints Questionnaire for Parkinson's Disease (SCCQ-PD )

Summary: The SCCQ-PD is a reliable tool for assessing subjective cognitive complaints in patients with PD. The SCCs measured by the SCCQ PD are correlated with objective cognitive decline and useful for discriminating demented patients from non-demented patients.

Subjective cognitive Complaints in early Parkinson ' s disease patients with normal cognition are associated with affective symptoms

Cong Yang Chua et al.

Summary: Subjective cognitive complaints (SCC) and affective symptoms are highly prevalent in early Parkinson's Disease (PD), with SCC significantly associated with anxiety, depression, and apathy in cognitively normal PD participants. Such an association was not found in cognitively impaired PD participants, suggesting that SCC in cognitively normal PD patients may indicate an underlying affective disorder.

Disease progression in Parkinson's disease patients with subjective cognitive complaint

Lin-Lin Han et al.

Summary: Parkinson's disease patients with subjective cognitive complaint (PD-SCC) exhibit faster deterioration of depression and quality of life than those with normal cognition. Subjective cognitive complaint may serve as an indicator of initial attention and executive function decline in Parkinson's disease.

The role of APOE in cognitive trajectories and motor decline in Parkinson's disease

Sungyang Jo et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the role of the APOE genotype in cognitive and motor trajectories in PD. Results showed that the APOE epsilon 4 genotype was associated with the rate of cognitive decline in PD patients, but not with motor progression. Therefore, the APOE genotype could be used to predict the cognitive trajectory in PD.
