Treatment Decision Making and Regret in Parents of Children With Incurable Cancer

Zeng Jie Ye et al.

Summary: This study investigated whether parents of children with incurable cancer regretted their treatment decisions, finding that parents who made cancer-directed treatment decisions were more likely to experience regret. Therefore, it is important to prepare shared-decision aids for young parents with low education levels to improve understanding of disease-related knowledge, accurate risk perceptions, and options in line with their values.

A Comparison of Limited-Information Test Statistics for a Response Style MIRT Model

Joshua Starr et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the performance of M-2, M-2*, and C-2 with the MNRM under nominal data and non-ordinal latent trait models. The results show that M-2 sometimes has inflated Type I error rates, M-2* always has little power, and C-2 lacks power under some conditions. M-2 and C-2 may provide complementary and valuable information regarding model fit under specific conditions.

Resilience patterns and transitions in the Be Resilient To Breast Cancer trial: an exploratory latent profile transition analysis

Zeng Jie Ye et al.

Summary: The study found that different resilience patterns exist among breast cancer patients after BRBC intervention. Patients who are middle-aged, unmarried, higher education level, and in early tumor stage are more likely to experience positive resilience transitions.

Accuracy of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale Depression subscale (HADS-D) to screen for major depression: systematic review and individual participant data meta-analysis

Yin Wu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the accuracy of the depression subscale of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-D) to screen for major depression among people with physical health problems. Results showed that in semi-structured and fully structured interviews, a HADS-D cut-off value of seven or higher has higher sensitivity and specificity.
