CHARMM-GUI Nanomaterial Modeler for Modeling and Simulation of Nanomaterial Systems

Yeol Kyo Choi et al.

Summary: Molecular modeling and simulation are important tools for predicting properties and understanding mechanisms of nanomaterials. However, building nanomaterial-containing systems is challenging. Researchers have developed a web-based nanomaterial modeler that generates transferable nanomaterial models among different simulation packages. The modeler has been validated and can also generate complex systems of nanomaterial-biomolecule and nanomaterial-polymer interfaces.

Coining the attributes of nano to micro dual hybrid silica-ceramic waste filler based green HNBR composites for triple percolation: Mechanical properties, thermal, and electrical conductivity

Debabrata Ganguly et al.

Summary: This work focuses on the development of sustainable composites using silica-ceramic waste as fillers, optimizing mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. The developed composites show improved mechanical properties and enhanced thermal conductivity without surface modification. The addition of hybrid fillers helps in modifying the filler network and maintaining basic technical properties, while also improving dispersion. The high loading of ceramic fillers without surface treatment or coupling agent has not been reported previously. These composites can find potential applications in printed circuit boards, mounts, isolators, and other e-automotive applications due to their combination of mechanical, electrical, and thermal attributes.

Conjugation of milk proteins and reducing sugars and its potential application in the improvement of the heat stability of (recombined) evaporated milk

Jianfeng Wu et al.

Summary: The study focuses on improving the heat stability of milk proteins by conjugating them with reducing sugars. This strategy has been effective in enhancing the heat stability of milk proteins in commercial dairy products, but further research is needed in the future.
