Polymer-Induced Emission-Active Fluorine-Embedded Carbon Dots for the Preparation of Warm WLEDs with a High Color Rendering Index

Rinki Kumari et al.

Summary: This study successfully achieved polymer-induced emission (PIE) by designing fluorine-embedded (F-embedded) carbon dots (CDs) in poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). The CDs exhibited red-shifted emission wavelengths of 611 nm and 617 nm in the dispersed and solid states, respectively, in PVA. The presence of PVA chains in the solid state eliminated the self-quenching of CDs and resulted in an unexpected red shift. Furthermore, white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) with high color rendering index were fabricated by integrating red- and green-emissive films over UV LEDs.

A Facile Preparation of Multicolor Carbon Dots

Risheng Yu et al.

Summary: Carbon dots (CDs) with tunable emission wavelength were prepared by a simple one-pot solvothermal route using citric acid and thiourea as precursors. The optical properties of CDs varied with different solvents. The particle size of CDs and the content of surface functional groups increased with the increasing ratio of DMF to water, resulting in red-shifted emission wavelength.

Solid-state N,P-doped carbon dots conquer aggregation-caused fluorescence quenching and couple with europium metal-organic frameworks toward white light-emitting diodes

Sujie Han et al.

Summary: Carbon dots, as a newly discovered photoluminescent material, have been successfully designed with a unique structure to overcome self-quenching during aggregation, resulting in bright blue fluorescence in the solid state. By combining with red emissive europium metal-organic frameworks, the hybrid phosphors exhibit a Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinate of (0.33, 0.33) in white light-emitting diodes.
