Sulfonated lignin intercalated graphene oxide membranes for efficient proton conduction

Yiqin Liu et al.

Summary: By incorporating sulfonated lignin as an intercalator, highly conductive graphene oxide/sulfonated lignin membranes were prepared. These membranes exhibited high proton conductivity and maximum power density, attributed to the abundant sulfonic acid groups and ether bonds providing additional proton transfer sites, as well as the continuous proton transfer network.

Facile synthesis of KVPO4F/reduced graphene oxide hybrid as a high-performance cathode material for potassium-ion batteries

Jianzhi Xu et al.

Summary: Potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) have attracted attention as a substitute for lithium-ion batteries, with polyanionic compound KVPO4F showing high voltage and large capacity in positive electrode materials. The KVPF/rGO hybrid, prepared via a multi-step approach, exhibits impressive discharge capacity and energy density due to the small size of KVPF nanoparticles and their uniform distribution in the rGO framework.

Reduced Graphene Oxide Modified Few-Layer Exfoliated Graphite to Enhance the Stability of the Negative Electrode of a Graphite-Based Potassium Ion Battery

Jian Wang et al.

Summary: The intercalation of potassium in graphite provides high energy density, but also brings challenges such as volume expansion, stress, and sluggish kinetics. By designing a sandwich structure of few-layer exfoliated graphite/reduced graphene oxide/few-layer exfoliated graphite, the problems associated with potassium intercalation can be addressed.

Microporous Layer Containing CeO2-Doped 3D Graphene Foam for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells at Varying Operating Conditions

Liang Chen et al.

Summary: To improve the interfacial mass-transfer efficiency, microporous layers (MPLs) containing CeO2 nanorods and the CeO2 nano-network were prepared for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). CeO2-doped 3D-GF improved the reaction kinetics of the cathode effectively and worked as the water receiver to prevent the dehydration of MEAs at dry operating condition, while also providing the pathway for water removal at a high current density or humid operating condition.
