Effect of Ti rolling process on the enhanced interfacial adhesion between TiO2 and underlying Ti substrate

Tingting Guo et al.

Summary: TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNAs) prepared by traditional methods are prone to peel off from the titanium substrate, limiting their applications. Cold-rolled titanium sheets exhibit different growth behavior of nanotubes, leading to improved adhesion between the nanotubes and the titanium substrate.

Oxygen vacancy-regulated TiO2 nanotube photoelectrochemical sensor for highly sensitive and selective detection of tetracycline hydrochloride

Hong Cui et al.

Summary: Investigation into the mechanism of oxygen vacancy-regulated photoelectrochemical sensors for highly sensitive and selective detection of biomolecules with electron-donating groups is an innovative research field. This study synthesized oxygen vacancy-regulated TiO2 nanotube arrays with high photoelectrochemical activity and applied them to detect tetracycline hydrochloride. The synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and Ti3+ in the nanotube arrays led to increased generation of photogenerated carriers, while the adsorption of tetracycline hydrochloride consumed the oxygen vacancies and decreased the photocurrent response of the sensor. The sensor showed excellent linearity in the range of 0.1-1000 nM and high selectivity for tetracycline hydrochloride determination.

Highly Ordered TiO2 Nanotube Arrays with Engineered Electrochemical Energy Storage Performances

Wangzhu Cao et al.

Summary: In this study, vertically oriented TiO2 nanotube arrays were successfully grown using self-organizing electrochemical anodization, with different parameters affecting their morphology studied. Optimized TiO2 nanotubes with tube diameters of 70-160 nm and tube lengths of 6.5-45 µm were obtained. As lithium-ion battery anodes, they exhibited good kinetic, capacity, and stability performances.

The growth of anti-friction and wear-resistance TiO2 nanotube arrays driven by residual stress

Yuan Wang et al.

Summary: The study investigates the influence of residual stress on the frictional properties of TiO2 nanotubes, showing that increased residual stress can enhance the growth rate of nanotubes and reduce friction coefficient and wear rates. Additionally, experimental results establish a connection between theoretical calculations and the testing of surface residual stress.

Betal-integrin/Hedgehog-Glil signaling pathway fuels the diameter-dependent osteoblast differentiation on different TiO2 nanotubes The optimal-diameter nanotubes for osteoblast differentiation

Yirui Xie et al.

Summary: Micro/nanotextured topographies (MNTs) can modulate cell-biomaterial interactions through their controllable geometries, with TiO2 nanotubes being extensively investigated due to their highly controllable nanoscale geometry. Among different diameters of TiO2 nanotubes, a diameter of 70 nm was found to provide the optimal microenvironment for osteogenic differentiation by activating betal-integrin/Hedgehog-Gli1 signaling. The study highlights the crucial role of betal-integrin/Hedgehog-Gli1 signaling in mediating diameter-dependent osteogenic differentiation promoted by MNTs with TiO2 nanotubes of different diameters.

Evaluation of the Titanium Substrate Effect on the Morphology of Anodic TiO2 Nanotubes

Mengmeng Zhang et al.

Summary: The synthesis of titanium dioxide nanotube arrays (TNAs) was reported using different purity titanium foils as working electrodes, affecting the morphology and properties of the TNAs. The adhesion of TNAs to titanium substrates was found to be closely related to the residual stress of substrates. The appearance of TNAs was strongly dependent on the purity of the titanium foils used as electrodes.
