This study focuses on the isolation, characterization, and identification of bacterial isolates from bryophytes collected from Mount Abu, Rajasthan. The results show that the endophytic bacterial communities associated with the bryophytes differ based on geographical location.
The present study is focused on the isolation, characterization, and identification of bacterial isolates from bryophytes collected from several locations on Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Endophytic bacterial isolates belonging to three genera: Bacillus, Aeromonas, and Pseudomonas were isolated and identified based on morphological, biochemical, and 16SrRNA approaches. The result exhibited the endophytic bacterial communities associated with the bryophytes collected from the different geographical regions of Mount Abu (Rajasthan), such as moist soil and near water channels, consisting mostly of proteobacteria. Whereas samples collected from shaded rocks and roots of the tree contain mainly phyla Firmicutes. The genus Bacillus is among the most dominant endophytes.
