Impact of wavefront aberrations on the duration of few-cycle laser pulses

Charles Pichette et al.

Summary: Defining the duration of few-cycle laser pulses in the presence of spatiotemporal coupling is generally challenging. This study investigates the impact of various aberrations on the global pulse length of collimated Gaussian few-cycle pulses. It is found that aberrations can cause changes in the temporal profile, resulting in an increase in the rms temporal width and a decrease in the maximum instantaneous intensity of the global pulse. This has implications for the performance of optical systems using few-cycle pulses.

Survey of spatio-temporal couplings throughout high-power ultrashort lasers

Antoine Jeandet et al.

Summary: This survey presents, for the first time, the STC measurements at different stages of a collection of high-power ultrashort laser systems. The measurement campaign reveals spatio-temporal effects with various sources, motivating the expanded use of STC characterization in a wider range of ultrafast laser systems to gain knowledge about potential defects and the fundamental dynamics and operating regimes.

Comprehensive deep learning model for 3D color holography

Alim Yolalmaz et al.

Summary: In this study, we designed an optical hologram using a deep learning model, CHoloNet, which can generate holographic images at multiple observation planes and colors. CHoloNet achieves multiplexing color holographic image planes by tuning holographic structures, and can extract object/hologram information from an intensity holographic image without requiring phase and amplitude information.

Review of computer-generated hologram algorithms for color dynamic holographic three-dimensional display

Dapu Pi et al.

Summary: Holographic three-dimensional display is an important technique that provides depth information without special eyewear. Computer-generated holograms have emerged as the most promising method for holographic display, but face challenges such as heavy computation burden and low image quality. Researchers have explored various algorithms to overcome these problems and achieve color dynamic holographic three-dimensional display.

Single-pulse, reference-free, spatiospectral measurement of ultrashort pulse-beams

David Goldberger et al.

Summary: This paper presents a reference-free, full-field, single-shot spatiospectral measurement technique called broadband single-shot ptychography (BBSSP). BBSSP provides the complex wavefront for each spectral and polarization component in an ultrafast pulse-beam and should be applicable across the electromagnetic spectrum. BBSSP will dramatically improve the application and mitigation of spatiospectral pulse-beam structure.
