Quality assessment of Japanese clinical practice guidelines including recommendations for acupuncture

Summary: Japanese clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) with acupuncture recommendations were evaluated in this study. Findings showed that the methodological quality of these CPGs was not necessarily high, highlighting the importance of involving experts in developing and reviewing guidelines to ensure accurate health information dissemination.

Summary: This study systematically summarised the clinical and methodological characteristics of acupuncture-related Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and evaluated their methodological quality. The findings showed that there is a large number of CPGs addressing acupuncture interventions in the past 10 years, but there is still room for improvement.
