Summary: This study examines the relationship between trade liberalization, CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and economic growth in Southeast Asian and Latin American countries. The findings show that trade has a positive and significant effect on energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and GDP in Southeast Asian countries. While in Latin American countries, trade has a positive but insignificant impact on energy consumption, but a positive and significant impact on both CO2 emissions and GDP. Energy consumption predicts a positive and significant effect on CO2 emissions and a positive but insignificant effect on GDP in Southeast Asia. However, in Latin American countries, energy consumption has a positive and significant impact on both CO2 emissions and GDP. Additionally, CO2 emissions have a positive significant effect on GDP in both regions. Therefore, governments in both areas should implement appropriate policies to promote green technologies in production and exports, leading to a cleaner environment and sustainable long-term development.
