Electrochemical immunosensors using electrodeposited gold nanostructures for detecting the S proteins from SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2

Lais Canniatti Brazaca et al.

Summary: This study reports the development of a low-cost immunosensor based on gold-modified screen-printed carbon electrodes for the fast and sensitive determination of S proteins from SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2. The immunosensor showed high selectivity, sensitivity, and a low limit of detection, allowing for direct determination of target proteins in saliva samples. The immunoplatform presented in this study has the potential for mass testing in point-of-care settings.

Highly Sensitive Lanthanide-Doped Nanoparticles-Based Point-of-Care Diagnosis of Human Cardiac Troponin I

Lu Chen et al.

Summary: This study established a highly sensitive and reliable point-of-care lateral flow strip based on lanthanide-doped nanoparticles for the detection of cardiac troponin I in human blood samples. The platform achieved a lower limit of detection than the commercial counterpart, while maintaining high specificity, reproducibility and accuracy for analyzing clinical serum samples. This strategy provides an ultrasensitive, cost-effective and user-friendly platform for on-site diagnosis of disease-related biomarkers using lanthanide-doped nanoparticles.

Label-free electrochemical immunosensor for ultrasensitive determination of cardiac troponin I based on porous fluffy-like AuPtPd trimetallic alloyed nanodendrites

Shi-Yun Cen et al.

Summary: Enhancement of electrochemical immunosensors using advanced nanomaterials is beneficial for developing high-sensitivity and high-selectivity immunoassays for cardiac troponin I (cTnI). By utilizing trimetallic alloyed AuPtPd porous fluffy-like nanodendrites (AuPtPd FNDs) as the assembly point for the antibody (Ab), the sensor displayed a wide linear range (0.01 to 100.0 ng/mL) and a low detection limit (LOD = 3 pg/mL), showing great potential for detecting cTnI in serum samples and providing an effective platform for analysis of other cardiac markers in practical samples.
