Increased serum levels of CCL3, CXCL8, CXCL9, and CXCL10 in rosacea patients and their correlation with disease severity

Tangxiele Liu et al.

Summary: This study examined the serum levels of various chemokines in rosacea patients and found that the concentrations of CCL3, CXCL8, CXCL9, and CXCL10 were significantly increased. The levels of these chemokines correlated with the severity of rosacea. The expression of their corresponding receptors was also elevated in the skin lesions of rosacea patients and mouse model. These findings may contribute to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of rosacea.

Carotid intima-media thickness and serum proinflammatory cytokine levels in rosacea patients without cardiovascular risk factors

Sumeyre Seda Ertekin et al.

Summary: In this study, patients with rosacea showed significantly higher levels of serum proinflammatory markers compared to healthy controls, but no significant difference in mean CIMT values. However, subgroups of patients with moderate to severe rosacea or with eye involvement had increased subclinical atherosclerosis, indicating a potential need for additional attention in cardiovascular disease prevention for these specific groups.

Influence of Mediterranean Diet on Human Gut Microbiota

Giuseppe Merra et al.

Summary: Changes in gut microbiota are correlated with health status, with the Mediterranean diet shown to modulate gut microbiota, increase diversity, and potentially prevent the onset of chronic non-communicable degenerative diseases. Additional controlled intervention studies are needed to further understand the correlations between dietary patterns and gut microbiota composition and activity.

Phase angle and Mediterranean diet in patients with acne: Two easy tools for assessing the clinical severity of disease

Luigi Barrea et al.

Summary: This study found that patients with acne had poorer body composition, particularly smaller PhA, and lower adherence to the Mediterranean diet. The research also indicated that PhA and PREDIMED scores might serve as markers for the severity of acne.
