Composite polymer particles containing bismuth vanadate particles for self-cleaning fabrics

Chonticha Klubchom et al.

Summary: This research aimed to prepare composite polymer particles containing bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) particles for fabric coating as a self-cleaning fabric using microsuspension iodine transfer polymerization (ms ITP). By modifying the surface of BiVO4 particles, increasing the polymer shell, and using a porogen, the encapsulation efficiency and degradation rate under visible light were improved, achieving satisfactory self-cleaning property for the coated fabric.

The study of TiO2/Cu2O nanoparticles as an efficient nanophotocalyst toward surface adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue

Mona Hosseini-Sarvari et al.

Summary: Cost-effective TiO2/Cu2O nanoparticles were synthesized and used for efficient photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) as a model organic dye. The TiO2/Cu2O nanoparticles exhibited high adsorption and photodegradation properties, with optimal conditions identified through optimization. The photocatalytic performances of TiO2/Cu2O nanoparticles were superior to those of Degussa p25 TiO2 and Cu2O nanoparticles, and the adsorption/photodegradation reaction pathway was investigated.

Synthesis and Characterization of Co-ZnO and Evaluation of Its Photocatalytic Activity for Photodegradation of Methyl Orange

Muhammad Adeel et al.

Summary: Photocatalysis using Co-ZnO as a catalyst showed superior efficiency in degrading organic pollutants in wastewater, particularly methyl orange dye. The inclusion of 10% cobalt in Co-ZnO significantly enhanced its photocatalytic activity, leading to faster degradation compared to pure ZnO. The presence of cobalt inhibited electron-hole recombination, contributing to the improved degradation of the dye.
