Calorimetric evaluation of thermal stability and runaway hazard based on thermokinetic parameters of O,O-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate

Hai-Lin Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigated the thermal stability of DMPAT, an essential pesticide intermediate, and found that its thermal stability is influenced by atmospheric conditions, heating rate, and stirring conditions. The researchers determined thermal safety parameters using various thermokinetic methods and developed a reaction model for DMPAT. These findings offer valuable insights for ensuring the safety of DMPAT processing, use, storage, and transportation to prevent thermal decomposition accidents.

A fundamental study on the fluorescence-quenching effect of nitro groups in tetraphenylethene AIE dyes with electron-withdrawing groups

Cheng-Xiao Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that strong electron-withdrawing groups like pyridinium and dicyanovinyl are detrimental to the quenching effect of nitro groups. Decreasing the electron-withdrawing ability can restore the nitro group's quenching effect.

Calorimetric approach to establishing thermokinetics for cosmeceutical benzoyl peroxides containing metal ions

An-Chi Huang et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the thermal stability and reaction characteristics of cosmeceutical benzoyl peroxide (CBPO), as well as its potential process risks. Through experimental research, the apparent activation energy of CBPO can be calculated, and numerical simulations can help better understand its decomposition characteristics. The findings can be used as a reference for essential safety parameters and customer safety design for cosmeceutical production.

Effect of metal chloride on thermal decomposition of nitrocellulose

Yi Yang et al.

Summary: The study found that FeCl3 and AlCl3 promote NC decomposition, while CuCl2 and ZnCl2 inhibit it. Trivalent metal chlorides increase the explosion risk in NC, while divalent metal chlorides act as inhibitors. The addition of metal chlorides can either promote or inhibit NC decomposition without changing its reaction mechanism. This research provides important information for enhancing the safety of NC storage, transportation, and usage.

Water molecules can significantly increase the explosive sensitivity of Nitrotriazolone (NTO) in storage and transport

Rongbin Wei et al.

Summary: Density functional theory studies were conducted to investigate the effect of molecular structures and mechanisms of proton transfer in nitrotriazolone complexes. The results showed a significant decrease in the proton transfer barrier height for dehydrated nitrotriazolone and keto-enol tautomer reactions compared to non-water-assisted processes.
