Oleanolic Acid (OA) Targeting UNC5B Inhibits Proliferation and EMT of Ovarian Cancer Cell and Increases Chemotherapy Sensitivity of Niraparib

Zhen Zeng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of OA on proliferation, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of ovarian cancer cells by inhibiting UNC5B and studied its mechanism. The results showed that OA inhibits ovarian cancer cell proliferation, migration, and EMT by targeting UNC5B and increases the anti-tumor effect of niraparib. UNC5B is expected to be a new potential therapeutic target for ovarian cancer. OA may be used as an antitumor drug.

TM4SF1, a binding protein of DVL2 in hepatocellular carcinoma, positively regulates beta-catenin/TCF signalling

ChuanrRong Zhu et al.

Summary: The study reveals that TM4SF1 interacts with DVL2 to positively regulate Wnt/beta-catenin signaling, promoting growth and motility of HCC cells. TM4SF1 is upregulated in HCC and induced by Kras signaling, suggesting it may have oncogenic functions in HCC progression and could be a potential target for treatment.

Promising role of long non-coding RNA PCAT6 in malignancies

Mingxing Li et al.

Summary: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a newly identified class of RNA molecules at least 200 nucleotides in length that are not translated into proteins. The lncRNA prostate cancer-associated transcript 6 (PCAT6) is upregulated in various human malignancies and is closely correlated with aggressive clinicopathological characteristics and poor prognosis in cancer patients, indicating it is an oncogenic lncRNA that could serve as a new prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for malignancies. The molecular mechanisms, regulatory functions, and potential clinical applications of PCAT6 in cancer are discussed.

Role of Tetraspanins in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Sicheng Cai et al.

Summary: HCC is characterized by high prevalence, morbidity, and mortality, with tetraspanins playing important roles in its lifecycle. Some tetraspanins such as CD9, TSPAN15, and TSPAN31 can promote HCC cell proliferation or suppress apoptosis, while CD63, CD151, and TSPAN8 can facilitate HCC metastasis. TSPAN1, TSPAN8, and CD151 act as prognosis indicators and are inversely correlated to the overall survival rate of HCC patients.
