In Vitro Characterization of Pressure Redistribution Among Commercially Available Wound Dressings

Jeffrey A. Niezgoda et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the pressure reduction properties of commercially available wound dressings in vitro. Results showed that one dressing (OxyBand PR) provided superior pressure redistribution and significantly reduced peak pressure compared to other tested dressings, with a negative correlation between the average pressure distribution of a wound dressing and its contact area.

Summary: The study quantitatively evaluated the effect of far-red light exposure on mitochondrial bioenergetics of diabetic wounds and found that far-red light exposure improved mitochondrial function and accelerated wound healing, possibly through increasing mitochondrial RR and reducing oxidative stress.
