In Situ Photocatalyzed Polymerization to Stabilize Perovskite Nanocrystals in Protic Solvents

Simultaneous hydrogen production with the selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde by a noble-metal-free photocatalyst VC/CdS nanowires

Summary: In this study, CdS nanowires were combined with vanadium carbide using a specific method, and it was found that the photocatalytic activity of the CdS nanowires was significantly enhanced when loaded with vanadium carbide, especially for simultaneous production of H2 and selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol into benzaldehyde. Additionally, the vanadium carbide loading also reduced the recombination rate of hydrogen and benzaldehyde. These CPPs showed effective photocatalytic performance towards oxidative hydroxylation of arylboric acids and alkylation of vinylarenes. The thiophene-contained CPP exhibited superior catalytic efficiency attributed to its smaller optical band gap and greater charge separation efficiency, while also demonstrating reliable recyclability.

Visible-light photocatalytic selective oxidation of amine and sulfide with CsPbBr3 as photocatalyst

Summary: In this study, a facile protocol for the photocatalytic oxidation of amines and sulfides to their corresponding imines and sulfoxides using CsPbBr3 as a visible-light catalyst was reported. The results showed excellent yields and selectivity, with different final products depending on the electron-donating or electron-withdrawing groups present in the amines. The reaction mechanism studies revealed the involvement of photogenerated holes, superoxide radicals, singlet oxygen, and free radicals generated by amines in the transformation process.
