Atomically dispersed cobalt anchored on N-doped graphene aerogels for efficient electromagnetic wave absorption with an ultralow filler ratio

Summary: An efficient strategy for constructing ultralight electromagnetic wave absorbers with strong absorption performance was proposed in this study. N-doped graphene aerogels containing isolated single cobalt atoms (Co-SAs/GAs) were successfully synthesized and exhibited excellent absorption performance. The relationship between the single-atom structure and electromagnetic wave absorption property was comprehensively investigated through theoretical calculations and experimental results.

Accurately Engineering 2D/2D/0D Heterojunction In Hierarchical Ti3C2Tx MXene Nanoarchitectures for Electromagnetic Wave Absorption and Shielding

Summary: The precise engineering of heterojunctions in MXene-based composites significantly enhances their electromagnetic wave absorption and shielding capabilities. By decorating Ti3C2Tx lamellas with coordination compounds and controlling their assembly into hierarchical microspheres, a new microstructure with excellent EM wave absorption and interference shielding performance is achieved. The 2D/2D/0D heterojunctions in the carbonized Ti3C2Tx/C/MoO2 microspheres can be tuned to regulate electric/dielectric properties, resulting in superior EM energy absorption and out-plane electron flowing.

Multifunctional Ti3C2Tx MXene Composite Hydrogels with Strain Sensitivity toward Absorption-Dominated Electromagnetic- Interference Shielding

Summary: In this study, a hydrogel-type shielding material incorporating MXene and poly(acrylic acid) was successfully fabricated through a biomineralization-inspired assembly route. The composite hydrogel exhibits excellent stretchability, recyclability, high shielding performance, and fast self-healing capability, making it suitable for electromagnetic interference shielding in terahertz technologies. The sensitive deformation responses of the hydrogel also allow for its use as an on-skin sensor. This work provides an alternative strategy for designing next-generation EMI shielding materials and a highly efficient method for fabricating MXene composites on a macroscopic scale.

Thermally-tailoring dielectric genes in graphene-based heterostructure to manipulate electromagnetic response

Summary: Multiscale tailoring of dielectric genes enables a significant improvement in the maximal reflection loss to -58.1 dB at T = 423 K with a greatly reduced matching thickness of 1.16 mm, and an effective absorption efficiency (A(eff)) higher than 70% for electromagnetic interference shielding performance. These findings open up unexpected possibilities for smart material design in the upcoming 5G era, providing a great boost for advancing next-generation smart devices and environmental governance and protection.
