Summary: The study characterized gene expression changes in peripheral blood cells (PBC) from systemic sclerosis-related interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD) patients treated with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) or cyclophosphamide (CYC). The results showed that baseline lymphoid lineage modules predicted better forced vital capacity (FVC) course in MMF-treated patients, while baseline myeloid lineage and inflammation modules predicted worse FVC course. The study highlights the importance of baseline transcript scores in predicting treatment response in SSc-ILD patients.
