Highly Thermally Conductive Polymer/Graphene Composites with Rapid Room-Temperature Self-Healing Capacity

Huitao Yu et al.

Summary: This article proposes a method for repairing composite materials using supramolecular effects and successfully fabricates a self-healing PBA-PDMS/FGf composite material with high thermal conductivity. The composite material can completely self-heal at room temperature and has high tensile strength and thermal conductivity. The excellent self-healing performance is due to the efficient supramolecular interaction between polymer molecules and between polymer molecules and graphene. This composite material has important application prospects in the heat dissipation field of next-generation electronic devices in the future.

Rationally Constructed Surface Energy and Dynamic Hard Domains Balance Mechanical Strength and Self-Healing Efficiency of Energetic Linear Polymer Materials

Shanjun Ding et al.

Summary: By constructing surface energy and dynamic hard domains, energetic linear polyurethane elastomers not only obtained high healing ability and mechanical properties at high or room temperature, but also avoid the use of some assisted healing conditions and complex chemical structure design, decreasing manufacturing difficulty. Through the interfacial healing physical model, various trends of surface tension, radius, and depth of the crack bottom were calculated to analyze the healing mechanism.

Parthenocissus-inspired, strongly adhesive, efficiently self-healing polymers for energetic adhesive applications

Jing Yang et al.

Summary: The study introduced a new design strategy that endowed the adhesive with high-efficiency self-healing performance through abundant dynamic hydrogen bonds, and gave good mechanical properties to energetic composite materials (ECMs) by strong adhesion. The synthetic energetic adhesive could completely recover all mechanical properties within a short time after breaking at room temperature, indicating good energy level and promising applications in improving weapon system security.
