An inverse strategy to determine constitutive parameters of tubular materials for hydroforming processes

Bin Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper determines the flow stress curve of 5049-O aluminium alloy using a tube hydraulic bulging test. It introduces an inverse strategy that combines the finite element method with gradient-based optimization techniques to determine the constitutive parameters of the material. The results show that this framework can achieve more accurate parameter identification by eliminating assumptions made in classical theoretical analysis.

Reverse identification of constitutive parameters of Inconel 718 alloy based on analytical model and thermo-mechanical loads analysis of machined surface

Pengfei Tian et al.

Summary: Finite element simulation is used to predict cutting force, temperature, stress distribution, and chip formation in the cutting process. In this study, the reverse identification of J-C parameters for Inconel 718 alloy in different states was conducted, and the effects of cutting parameters and tool wear types on the machined surface were analyzed via numerical simulation. The research provides valuable insights into the constitutive parameters of superalloys and the control of machined surface quality.

Research on parameter identification of Johnson-Cook constitutive model for TC17 titanium alloy cutting simulation

Xuehong Shen et al.

Summary: The study proposes a parameterized identification method using the Johnson-Cook constitutive model to improve the accuracy of finite element simulations in cutting processes. Different Johnson-Cook constitutive models for TC17 titanium alloy were established through experimental data fitting and parameter identification. The results indicate that the identified constitutive model performs well at high temperatures and strain rates, making it suitable for cutting processes with such conditions.

Nonlinear characterization of magnetorheological elastomer-based smart device for structural seismic mitigation

Yang Yu et al.

Summary: This article focuses on nonlinear modeling of an innovative MRE device, the MRE vibration isolator, to achieve high performance vibration control. The field-dependent properties of the MRE isolator were analyzed and a phenomenal model was developed. An improved PSO algorithm was designed for parameter estimation, and a frequency control strategy was proposed for semi-active control of MRE devices. The proposed model was validated through numerical studies with satisfactory results.
