The precipitation behaviours and strengthening mechanism of a Cu-0.4 wt% Sc alloy

Zifan Hao et al.

Summary: The precipitation behaviors and corresponding strengthening mechanism of a Cu-0.4 wt% Sc alloy during aging process were systematically investigated. The alloy showed significant precipitation strengthening effect attributed to extremely small Cu4Sc precipitates (1.5-3 nm) leading to the superposition of coherent strengthening and Orowan strengthening effects.

Microstructure tailoring of Al0.5CoCrFeMnNi to achieve high strength and high uniform strain using severe plastic deformation and an annealing treatment

H. T. Jeong et al.

Summary: The high strength and high uniform strain of Al0.5CoCrFeMnNi alloy were achieved by severe plastic deformation via high-ratio differential speed rolling (HRDSR) followed by an annealing treatment. The optimized microstructure with ultrafine-grained FCC matrix and BCC particles allowed for a high tensile strength of over 1 GPa with a good uniform elongation of 14%-20%.

Evolution of dislocation and stacking-fault densities for a Cu-0.7Cr-0.07Zr alloy during cryogenic tensile test: An in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction analysis

P. H. F. Oliveira et al.

Summary: This study investigated the microstructure evolution and flow behavior of a Cu-0.7Cr-0.07Zr alloy through tensile tests at different temperatures, supported by in-situ X-ray diffraction experiments. Results showed that at 298 K, dislocation glide controlled the strain-hardening rate, while at 123 K, simultaneous strength and ductility enhancement was achieved due to the TWIP effect.
