Mechanics sharing dual-comb fiber laser based on an all-polarization-maintaining cavity configuration

Yoshiaki Nakajima et al.

Summary: This study proposes a mechanical sharing, dual-comb fiber laser with an all-polarization-maintaining cavity configuration and a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror mode-locking mechanism, which achieves highly correlated dual optical frequency combs with high relative stability. The laser setup simplifies dual-comb spectroscopy by suppressing common-mode noise through mechanical sharing of the laser cavity.

Intrinsic amplitude-noise suppression in fiber lasers mode-locked with nonlinear amplifying loop mirrors

Marvin Edelmann et al.

Summary: By investigating fiber lasers mode-locked with a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror, it is found that there is an inherent mechanism within the laser that can suppress amplitude noise under specific preconditions, leading to detectable differences in relative intensity noise between the reflected and transmitted output ports. Experimental results and simulations demonstrate up to a 4 dB reduction in intracavity amplitude fluctuations for certain steady states.

All-Normal-Dispersion Mode-Locked Fiber Laser With a Tunable Angle-Spliced Polarization-Maintaining Fiber Lyot Filter

Zhengru Guo et al.

Summary: An all-polarization-maintaining mode-locked fiber laser operating in all-normal-dispersion regime has been proposed and implemented based on a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror. The laser can deliver pulses with spectral bandwidth from 0.5 to similar to 4 nm by changing the specific fiber length. Additionally, single wavelength and dual-wavelength operations can both be achieved with an improved Lyot filter, with experimental results consistent with numerical analysis.
